Hi @Michaelrauser,

Thank you for your reply.

I am glad you were able to correct the over exposure issue with the Webcam.

I understand that the notebook came preinstalled with Windows 8,  64 bit and you have removed it and installed Windows 7, 32 bit.  You have installed the Intel installation utility, SMB bus drivers and chipset drivers.  You have tried installing the Bluetooth driver but to no avail.  The notebook does not detect any Bluetooth devices even when they are discoverable.

Have you done all your Windows updates?

First I would go to the  HP 2000-2d01SI Software and Driver  and choose the check now  option.  This will allow it to scan your system and create  a list of recommended updates and software.

Once you have completed the recommendations from above if you are still unable to use Bluetooth here is further documentation that may help.

HP Notebook PCs - Setting Up Bluetooth Connections with Windows 7

HP Notebook PCs - Fixing Bluetooth Problems

If the issue remains you can try these steps.

Step 1. Go to device manager
Step 2. Right click on "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" that you want
Step 3. Select "Update Driver Software..."
Step 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
Step 5. Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Step 7. Select "Microsoft" at "Manufacturer" list
Step 8. Finally select "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link"

If you are still unable to pair with a Bluetooth device try the following:

Step 1. Search for "Change device" in the Windows 8 Start menu.
Step 2. Click on where it says Change device installation settings.
Step 3. Select the No, let me choose what to do option.
Step 4. Check the automatically get the device app option
Step 5. Click Save changes to save the settings you just chose

As well you can try these steps.

Step 1: Go to RUN and type “services.msc” and Enter
Step 2: Now find “Bluetooth Support Service” and double click on it
Step 3: Now click on Log On Tab and Type in "Local Service" without quotes
Step 4. Click on “This Account”
Step 5: Now remove any passwords leave the password field blank
Step 6: Underneath the upper left title should be a hyperlink "Start" Click it

You can also check  the Power Management tab and unchecked the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Good Luck!

Hi @Michaelrauser,

Thank you for your query.

I grasp that your Webcam image is overexposed and you would like to correct that issue.

Please remember when posting to provide your exact model and not just the series.  HP 2000 is a series which has multiple models.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Here is a link to HP Notebook, Touch, and AiO PCs - Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7).

Hallo Sparkles1:

Thanks for ythe info. I managed to find the product code for the laptop, it is the HP2000 -2d01SI. I loaded the you Cam 5 application software and reset the cam settings to default. All is fine now!! Thanks. Skype is also full functioning now.

I have another problem battling wiyh the laptop to get it's bluetoot working. It cannot see or detect other blutooth devices enen if they made visible, etc. I tried to install every possible bluetooth driver from the list of drivers displayed at HP's website for this laptop (HP 2000-2d01SI) for win 7 32bit. I also  loaded intel installation utility driver, chipset driver and SMBus driver to make sure, but no results. I tried also to load the dual Bluetooth/Wifi card driver for incase it has such one, but no luck. I do not want to open the laptop to see if I can find the Bluetooth chip and the model of it. I just want to mention that this laptop came pre- installed with Windows 8, 64bit, but as we know W8 it is a mess and so uninstalled it and loaded a real Win 7 32bit on it. May it be the problem? Al other functions on the laptop is working good and no problems. Just wonder if W10 will work on this laptop. Thanks for your help.

Best regards: Michael

Hallo Sparkles1:

I tried everything now to get BT working. Followed your advice for  MS updates, they found only a MS security essential download. Checked HP updates via "check now", but no lug. It just brings up a list of BT drivers. Good luck I saw the driver needed in Device manager under Bluetoot radios properties. It is the Qualcomm Artheros BT4.0 driver. I re-installed it from my laptop's driver page. I also checked the Power Management tab and unchecked the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."  Remember I have win7, so I cannot do the option: "Step 1, Search for "Change device" in the Windows 8 Start menu.......etc"

I also tried the "Step 1: Go to RUN and type “services.msc” option, but I cannot get deleted the password. It keeps coming back even when deleting the password in stop mode and then restarting the service.

I aso downloaded and run the Intel chipset driver update utility and HP support facility, but found no updates.

I am really busted! I have Teamviewer installed on my laptop, may it help you??? Regards: Michael.

HI @Michaelrauser,

Thank you for your reply.

I am unable to use TeamViewer, however if you contact HP support they have the ability to remotely access your system to help find and fix issues.

I will assume that your Bluetooth was working before, if that is the case have you tried doing a restore back to a known good date.

You could also do a recovery back to factory.  HP PCs - Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7).  During the recovery process there is a option to backup your personal data to prevent loss.  If you have not yet done one now is a good time.

HP PCs - Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7).

If the Bluetooth issue remains I do suggest contacting HP support.
