Dear Paul,

I have the same problem in that i did a fresh install of Windows 8 64-bit. All my drivers are installed as I can confirm from the device manager (except "Bluetooth Peripheral Device") but I still have no luck in getting the  WIFI to work.
Whenever I press the F12 button, the system goes on airplane mode. I've tried every trick from downloading and installing all the drivers you already listed (the one from this link "h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?lang=en&cc=us&sp4ts.oid=5060882&swItem=ob_108905_1" refuses to install though. It says it wasn't meant for my system.).
I am stuck right now. So find below my Hardware IDs for respective items.

Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi:

Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, there is no W8 driver for the Atheros 3.0 BT adapter in your notebook, so I am unable to provide assistance to you regarding that matter.

Dear Paul

I've finally resolved my issue

I woke up one day and decided to format the OS from scratch, but the installation kept stalling at an eternal loop, at 99%.

After several tries and confirming that both my disk drive and installation CD were perfect, I removed the hard drive and ran the installation using my HP DV3 with a cracked screen.

I now re-inserted the hard drive on the HP 630, and surprise surprise, the wireless started working on its own volition!

Whatever was the problem with the installation loop, I couldn't tell till today. Neither can I say why the wireless suddenly started working despite my not running the installation with the 630. I'll leave that to the nerds.

Thank you for your help though.

You're very welcome.

I am very glad you were able to get the wireless to work by hook or by crook.
