So, my sisters HP 655 boots straight into a screen where there is a HP-logo and the Windows 8 loading ''wheel''. Nothing like ''Press F10 to access BIOS'' pops up, and pressing esc or f1, f2 and f10 didn't do the trick... Pressing and holding f10 before the loading wheel appears, however, appears to delay the windows boot... Sounds weird, right?
The point is to gain access to the boot order, to install Linux 😄

Hi:
Usually you can tap the esc key at the beginning of the hp welcome screen but since you have already tried that, here is a sure-fire way to get into the BIOS.
This video is for an ACER PC, but all brand W8 PC's should operate the same way.

Once you gain access to the BIOS, if you plan to boot from a CD or DVD, you also need to change this setting...
