Dear HP Community,
I already have a HP 6670b since like 3 years now. It is good but I think I can get more out of it if I upgrade it by putting another GPU and CPU. I have read online that I can add a amd HD 7570M and upgrade it to a i7-3540M but when I opened my laptop I couldn´t find a slot to add the amd HD 7570M to. So if you guys could point me in the right direction before I buy the upgrades that would be great.
Thank you in advanced,
Joey

Hi,
I need to know what is the model/product of your machine. The link shows the whole family and ths famili can have hundreds of models/product. Your machine is (using product number: A5E64AV):

You simply can't upgrade the video card. Put this way:
Basically you can, with a cost and I believe this cost may be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:
- New card price, and WHERE you can buy it because laptop cards are not the same as desktop cards. You can't buy from any normal shop,
- Need new system board (definitely in this case),
- Need new cooling system because generally speaking more powerfull card pumps out more heat (you want more powerfull card don't you?).
- May need new PSU because your current PSU may not suitbale to the card. (I ordered a machine with Nvidia card and I needed to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal 65W charger. They simply rejected my order).
- Labor cost.
- Many, many packets of Asprin.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

Hi,
What is the model/product of your HP 6570B. Please use the following link to find out:

Except for few workstation type laptops, upgrading video card on most laptops is from very costly to impossible. In many cases, you have to change system board (ie motherboard), change cooling system, change power supply .... and may ending up more expensive than buying a new, better laptop.

Serienummer: 5CB4130NM1
Productnummer: A5E64AV is what my detection says.
I used this post : http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-HP-ProBook-ZBook/Probook-6570b-Are-the-CPU-amp-GPU-upgradeable... as an source but wasn't 100% sure but since one of your professionals says it is possible I hoped mine was upgradable too.

Thank you for helping, spity this is not going to work out since I really like this laptop but need some more power to run games :$. I do know its more expensive to change the motherboard and I already have a 90 watts charger but this motherboard just doesn't have the extra slot I guess.

Joey
