hello
I got a hp 840 g1 with a crashed hd from a client. now i changed to a ssd and wanted to install win8 from a bootable usb stick. as usb does not show in the boot options i wanted to change this in the bios, but bios is asking me for a password and the client has no idea what that password is. i tried to diconnect bios battery but this did not help anything. what can i do next ? because this way the laptop is useless when no installation can be done. please help ... thanks misanti

Misanti.
There are no master password generators for ProBooks or EliteBooks.
You will need to contact HP.

Or look at this link.

Or replace the BIOS chip.
