I recently Upgraded from Windows 7 to windows 8. While using Windows 7, I plugged my HP Bluetooth USB 2.0 Adapter bt500 plugged into my HP printer to make a bluetooth connection and it printed fine. Since upgrading to Windows 8, I cannot make a bluetooth connection to my printer through my PH Bluetooth USB 2.0 Adapter bt500 because when I try to download the driver for the Adapter it says to Adapter is not compatible with Windows 8. Does anyone have a solution for making a bluetooth connection with HP printers using a bluetooth adapter plugged into the printer or rather is there a Windows 8 compatible bluetooth adapter that I can use in place of my HP Bluetooth USB 2.0 Adaper bt500 for bluetooth printing?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I do not believe that Bluetooth is supported on this printer anymore. The drivers are the self-installed windows drivers, since this is a legacy printer and the original drivers no longer function in the WIn8 environment. Because of this there are limitations to what your printer is capable of doing, and unfortunately in Bluetooth compatibility is one of the things that was lost in the transition.
Generally, you are going to be limited to USB connectivity with this type of configuration.

Interesting, I am going to need a little more information on this - in particular what printer you are using? Also, did this setup work before your upgrade?

Thanks so much for your time and responses on this matter. I looked at the wireless direct option on the newer printers but it will quit a hassle to keep hgoing to another network connection everytime I want to print. So, it looks like the only viable options for bluetooth printing that will fit my needs would be the HP Officejet 100 or 150. The price point is higher than the comparable new HP printers (with only wireless direct) to my current printer but they are bluetooth and work with windows 8.
Thanks.

There are a few other printers that support Bluetooth, you might look into getting a Photosmart Premium (c309) which you might still be able to find online. The mobile printers that you mentioned are good and versatile, but they lack a lot of features for that reason. Is working with a wireless or wired network out of the question?
