Pavillion Notebook 5CD5217B57
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The SCAM contunes, I received a call from David at HP.  David indicated that he was making a courtesy call because my HP Notebook was indicating to them that a file virus was causing issue and was notifying HP of a problem, he needed to have me start up my machine, so that he could take a look and fix the problem.  I didn't allow it to go any further as I was suspicious and asked if I could have a number to call him back once I had the machine up and running.  He provided 800 680-1438.  The number he called in on was 866-756-0309.  I attempted to call 1 800-680-1438, got message "could not complete call"  after an inordinant # of rings.  Just a heads up to all those out there with HP Products.

Thanks for the heads-up.

HP is already aware of this and has posted a warning to this effect on this website.
