hey Paul,

All was well but now i get physical memory dumps.

problem seems to be the display driver.

here what I get prompted:  igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally.

on the phsyical dumps it prompts: the device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually

indicates problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.

then ,  Beginning dump of physical memory.

what can you suggest?

I tried dowmloading all your instructions twice rebooting, etc. but it seems to not fix.

Thanks chuk

Hi:

Did you install the chipset driver?

If not, you should.

Then try the Intel video driver (from Intel) and see if that helps.

I tried the downloads again but get an error.

I did do the downloads including chipset and redid 3 times and rebooting as well.

I still get system dumps, something with the display driver.

the screen gets large and distorted with large fonts then crashes and starts to dump memeory, we restart to get back in until it does it again.

The device manager has no warnings either, appears all ok after your downloads were completed.

Any suggestions?

Hi:

Unfortunately, I have no idea.

This person on the HP business support forum had the same issue, and I couldn't help him either.

Thanks for the information on the dc 7700. It was great. I have been given a lot of dc 7700s and dc 7800s to recycle to people in need.

Is the same drive information available for a dc 7800 as I have to reload Windows XP to ensure that no donor information remains on the PCs.

I have reformatted all the computers with Windows XP but now need to make sure they are fully operable.

About 40 computers in all.

Cheers
