I'm Running Windows 7 (SP1) 64-bit O/S.
Started getting a HP Connection Manager error message "HP Connection Manager Service has stopped responding. Error code 8008005.
Currently running v4.1.23.1 of HP Connection Manager.
When I try to install a newer version of HP Connection Manager v4.4.10.1 (SP58930) I get a Windows Installer error 1719. Tried the different recommended solutions for this, but nothing worked.
I see in the forum post that uninstalling the current version and then install the new version of HP Connection Manager can resolve my original problem.
Before I uninstall the currenet version of HP Connection Manager, I wanted to make sure I will be able to install the newer version without encountering error 1719. I don't want to be in a worse situation of not being able to HP Connection Manager after uninstalling it.
Can I get confirmation from HP that I will be able to successfully install a newer version after uninstalling the current version?

What do you suggest trying next?
The fact that HP Connection Manger is no longer installed, how will this impact my computer?
The fact that is is no longer installed will have no effect on your notebook's operation and none on the operating system .
The HP Connection Manager is simply a helper utility for people who find making network connections via wifi and bluetooth conections difficult.
If you are not within that group it really is not needed.
From your description, it sounds as if you may not be following the Microsoft fixit's instructions to the letter. Using the fixit is the simplest means of removing registry entries and making changes to the registry that will allow installation and uninstallation of software programs. I cannot recommend the methods that I personally use when I run into these issues because they involve accessing the registry directly via regedit. Mot people have never even heard of Regedit. Using Regedit can be a very bad thing for someone not experienced in using the registry editor. Any ch=anges made take place immediately and that included any mistakes make while accessing the registry. One can wip out an operating system pretty easily with the registry editor. Try the Microsoft fixit again. It is a safe utility. Use it after an install attempt and leave the error message window open until after it competes the installation of the software.

I suggest using the following Microsoft fixit to uninstall the program before installing the new verion of HP Connection Manager. It is an extremely useful and painless method to use whenever microsoft (Windows) installer produces an error message.
Since your current version is no longer workin, just what do you have to lose by uninstalling it and installing a fresh version after running the Microsoft fixit utility?

Use the following HP Connection Manager download link

When I ran the Fixit tool, it did say it fixed something, but when I tried the install, I had gotten the Windows Installer error 1719. That's when I did the uninstall of HP Connection Manager. I then ran the Fixit program again, and selected "Install", but since it could no longer find the HP Connection Manager program installed, I didn't go any futher with the Fixit tool.
As you suggest, I will try the install again and when I get the error, will try running Fixit.
I have used Regedit to make minor changes to the registry (i.e. chnaging values or adding statements if given precise instructions).
Will let you know how I make out.

Tried running again the install of the HP Connection Manager program and installation failed. Windows Installer error code 1719. As suggested, ran the Fixit Tool and that was not able to resolve the issue.
Since this program is not really needed and I'm able to connect to wireless networks, I'm fine with not having the HP Connection Manager installed, so I'm not going to waist anymore energy on this issue. Thanks for your time.
