HP Coolsense

[THE_HOG]

my questions are.....

1> My notebook mostly remains stationary(on the table). do i put hp coolsense on or off( i don't have 'auto' option)?

2> in short, how coolsense works? (does it speed up the fan while turned on?)

3> in what setting the laptop will last long?(i already read the "how to deal with overheating" thread)

model: hp g6 2005ax

AMD quadcore A8 4500M

ATI Radeon 7670M + AMD Radeon 7640G  1GB dedicated

I don't play games. i do use google earth in directx mode. I use designing softwere. i watch videos and surf internet. i dont have any problem or issues with my laptop.

Hi,

To answer your questions in order:

1.  I would leave CoolSense turned on - it will just remain inactive if the notebook is stationary, such as when on a table top.

2.  You're correct, CoolSense speeds up the fans to keep the notebook at a more comfortable temperature when movement is detected such as when you rest the notebook on your lap.

3.  As heat is one of the main factors governing the lifespan of a notebook, I would definitely recommend leaving CoolSense on at all times.

HP builded a:

Great tool called CoolSense 1.0.1.4, that does its job perfectly. I put in high speed and everithing is good.

Worst tool ever called CoolSense 2.0.1

The new coolsense just doesnt work well, I cant use my laptop, my fingers burn (really, we can fry a egg in the HP) , I always have to downgrade to the old HP Support Assistence to can have the old HpCoolsense working.

But seens like HP doesnt listen to the customers, not the first time I try to sugest that. I think not just me.

You said you are able to downgrade to the old HP suppor tAssistence to use the old HP Coolsense 1.0

Are you still able to do this? 

Ive downgraded the HP support Assitant on my laptop however, it no longer comes with the HP coolsense 1.0

do you sitll have HP coolsense 1.0 installed? IF so, what was the HP support Asistant you downgrade to. Do you still have access to it? I really just need the installer .exe for HP coolsense. 1.0

  Sorry, this days I stopped to use windows and I use just Linux. I figure out that what was hitting up my HP wanst the CPU but NVIDIA. On linux I can swap between drivers and I set NVIDIA just when I need and my heating problems are gone. Except when I need to use the NVIDIA, then I got an external FAN.

 I remember looking at this website to check the screen

I had ithe HP support assistante in my computer but I could find any more. But what I did was install one by one from the hp website. One thing you have to do is disable the auto upgrade, because once you install and update, it will iinstall a new version.
