HP ENVY 17
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I own an HP ENVY 17.  THe model number is 17 - 3070NR.  Last night while I was using the laptop the touchpad completely stopped working.  I figured I accidently double tapped to top left disable button, but it was not lit up and is unable to be lit up.  The entire touchpad is completely unresponsive.  I went into the control pan (mouse devices), but there is no touchscreen option.

As you can see, there should be another tab next to "hardware" called "device setting."

I have heard that there is a keyboard shourtcut possible using the "fn" button and maybe a f1-f12 button?  Is this true?

If not what steps should I take to enable my touchpad?  Thank you so much!

-Evan

Dear Customer,

Welcome and Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Forum

The touchpad is controlled through the Mouse Properties (in the Control Pad) where there is a tab "HP Control Zone Settings" and 2 "buttons":

1.  HP Control Zone enable  and 2. HP Control Zone disable

There is also a Tray Icon section of the window which allows a system tray icon  which is a shortcut to getting to the enable/disable capability

Neither is these 2 options work for both do not exist on my laptop. There is no HP control zone setting anywhere in the mouse properties. Are there any other ways of enabling the touchpad?

Like I mentioned in the first post, I already tried that. The entire touchpad is unresponsive.
