Yeah I was a little impatient when I figured out just how big of a blunder I had made by trying to remove the RAID 0 setup and thereby deleting everything. I have already downloaded the file and burned it as a bootable DVD with the tool you gave me, so I'll have that as a backup. I really appreciate all your help.

Paul,
I got my USB recovery flash drive in the mail today. This post details what happens when I try to boot to the USB. Any ideas?
I've gotten no responses yet. Been in a couple chats with HP so far, they just had me do the short and long hard drive check and they both passed. Not sure how to remove the write protection. I shouldn't have waited for this recovery USB. I would just install the W8 that you gave me, but I paid $50 for this USB that isn't even working...

And I got it working. I had to have the SSHD and the 24GB acceleration cache out of a RAID setup for the recovery to not give me that error. I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure if I can re-setup a RAID0 configuration of those two after I have installed the OS?

Hi:
Unfortunately, I don't know how to set up a RAID configuration of any kind because I have never needed to do so.
I suggest you read that article I posted which while not for the same model as yours, it should work exactly the same.
