- HP ENVY m6: Can I upgrade my CPU/Microprocessor?

Hello, Forums of HP Support.
I'm looking to continually upgrade my HP ENVY m6 Labeled Laptop, rather than buy a new one for a while.
I've upgraded the RAM to it's max of 16G, and also had a hard drive replacement.
Yet now, I'm looking to see if it is possible to have my Laptop be upgraded to a new CPU/Microprocessor, over my old, very bad and outdated: AMD A10-4600M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics.
If I can, what are my options?
I'm looking to go top-notch, high quality--such as the Intel Core -5960X Extreme Edition, or even further to the Intel Core i7-6700X.
This may be a dumb question, as I could not find much on the topic, and may be missing some important parts, but I hope to gain some insight on it!
Also, since my Laptop is running an APU, and if it is possible to upgrade to an Intel Core i7, then does that mean I will have to purchase a new Graphics Card to connect to it? As I will be buying a CPU not an APU?
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and I will review all of your answers with honest respeect!
Kind regards, - SlyStudios

Yeah there is a basic problem. You can't install an Intel processor on a motherboard made for AMD APUs. Square peg, round hole. That A10 is going to be as good as it gets for APUs that will fit the motherboard.

Hmm, alright.
Thank you for the reply!
But what would it take to upgrade the motherboard (ie. What would I need, what is the cost like, etc.)? Would it be possible to do so, and be able to grab an Intel Processor without an integrated GPU?
Thanks again, and I don't mean to be a bother.
Kind regards, - SlyStudios

You can do anything with enough money. No, the cost of replacing with an Intel motherboard and good intel processor is going to outstrip the cost of a new laptop. Your best move at this point financially is to sell that laptop to somebody, get what you can and buy a new one with specs you like.

according to the service manual, the best amd apu it supports is AMD 5750m which is a year newer than your current APU and has higher base and turbo speeds and a slightly better built in GPU.
i have the intel version of that latop and i have to say, its excellent.
my m6 spec:
intel i7 3632qm
intel hd 4000 + amd 7670m 2gb discreete graphics card
16gb ram 1600mhz
128gb SSD mSATA
500gb 7200prm HDD
wish they offered the UK keyboard a backlit version like the US keyboards
