My HP ENVY TouchSmart 4-1215dx Ultrabook uses the Intel Rapid Storage Technology to improve performance of Windows 8.1 and my applications.  Just lately I have noticed that a SMART error condition is being reported:

  • SATA SSD on Controller 0, Port 1: At risk (SMART event).

I cannot find any way to determine what the SMART event is.  The only action option availabe is "Suppress SMART event", which will remove the warning flag (!) on the Taskbar icon for Intel Rapid Storage, but it soon comes back.

I have no idea if I need to replace hardware.

I have attached the Status Window that shows this error condition.

Any advice will be most welcome.

Regards, Mike
