Hi,
I have just experienced the exact same problem with my mini 210-1000. I let the battery die and the next time it's plugged in, it says 0% avaliable, plugged in, not charging. It is not just "battery charging is not indicated," since even after being plugged in for an hour, the netbook instantly dies when the adapter is unplugged.
So is there any working solution or do I really have to replace the battery?

I have a H/P mini 210 . I bought it in April 2010. I have hardly used it. I am having the same problem that everyone else is having and I have tried everything and it still won't charge. When I contacted H/P they wanted to charge me for tech support because it is out of warranty for 2 months. This is my first and my last H/P.

I had the same problem after a period of non use. It would appear to me that if the battery is nearing the end of it's life (12 months?)and is allowed to fully discharge it is unable to recover. I tried all of the previous 'fixes' without success.
I purchased a non HP replacement battery for £30 - sorted!!

Same problem for me.
I bought a HP MINI 110 one year ago.
I noticed that, even when on hibernation or shut down, the battery was draining quickly !
So the battery was always empty if i werent' using it for a few days.
One year later, my battery is definteliy dead and won't charge anymore.
In the end, i'm pretty sure that the problem is totally due to HP and a poor work on this netbooks, as it has been corrected (months after i've bought my netbook) by a bios update
The release notes states "- Fixes an issue where the battery drains quickly when the notebook is Off or in Hibernation mode.".
That's exactly the behavior i noticed.
That explains why my battery died.
So i'm pretty disgussed by this netbook and by HP responsability.
It was my first HP computer, and it will be the last one.

I'm also having this problem. I got my HP Mini 210 as a gift about 15 months ago and never had any issues until about a week ago. My battery died and the next time I plugged it in, it said "plugged in, not charging". I've tried the recommended troubleshooting and still have the same issue. My AC power supply and system board are both intact. The BIOS driver update did nothing for me. I am disappointed to find out that HP only provides tech support for in-warranty products. As far as I'm concerned, this is terrible customer service. I won't be purchasing any items from HP in the future.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Thanks.

There are multiple solutions proposed, and here are the steps that fixed it for me:
- Disconnect AC
- Shutdown
- Remove battery
- Connect AC
- Startup
- Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Batterylistings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
- Shutdown
- Disconnect AC
- Insert battery
- Connect AC
- Startup
