Can someone explain why the HP Microserver N40L  Wake On Lan option will NOT work?

1) Its enabled in the BIOS

2) I've tried UDP

3) Ports 7 & 9

4) I've used Magic Packet & Wake Up Frame

5) I've tried it via LAN & WAN

6) I've tried it using WHS and Now Windows 7, which I shouldnt imagine should matter as it should rightfully boot via the bios prior to any operating systems running using WOL.

WOL is vital for my business and its an option advertised with this product so I expect and need it to work.

Does something need to be disabled in the bios to enable it to work? (WOL is currently enabled)

Is their a firmware update to resolve this issue?

Is their anything I can adjust in the network adapter properties from within windows to enable this to work?

What is the offical port that HP uses on this machine for WOL?

Does HP have an official WOL tool that we can download?

This worked first time for me: no BOIS settings, WOL was set by default.

I used the tool from http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/welcome.aspx wolcmd in a dos window.

I suggest you move yopur laptop and the N36L to the same switch and make sure there's nothing in between (firewalls) etc. If that works you can put it back in the LAN.
