I have been running my HP Mini laptop in Windows 7, IE11 with an external (extended desktop) Samsung SyncMaster LS23A300BS/XP without any browsing problems. All drivers up-to-date. I received a free upgrade from Microsoft to Windows 10 that I installed online 2 weeks ago and have not been able to do any proper internet browsing yet, either with Edge or IE11: Both browsers crash after opening a 2nd or 3rd page, hang and browser process can not be ended in Task Manager with the result that Windows cannot shut down (have to disconnect power). I followed all tips, fixes and common sense (clean boot) pertaining to this crashing but nothing works. On top of this crashing there is an issue with Windows Explorer application that cannot read an instruction in memory when shutting down Windows 10 and needs to be closed first. The last issue only occurs (I think) when working with the external montor, when I work with the laptop only I have not seen this message (cannot read instruction.....) when shutting down, but browsing crashing happens continuously working with one or two monitors.
I played with the DNS (using 8.8.8.8 etc. and automatic DNS), I also executed a PowerShell command (forum tip) and disabled non-Windows file extensions and all add-ins but have not touched the registry other than adding two words for maximum 10 tabs/server. Nothing helped.
Question: Is my Mini laptop too old and incompatible (internet browsing) with Windows 10 or is perhaps Windows 10 at fault (buggy)?
I am writing this post with my old HP Compac 8710p with the same external monitor but digital (DVI/HDMI cable) in VistaSP2 32 bit Business which still works like a "Charm" (pun intended). I could not even sign-in to this forum with Windows 10 (crash).
Any suggestions and help would be appreciated
Follow-up 5 September 7:00 p.m.(GMT +8 hrs.)
No more crashing with both browsers (Edge and IE11) but still very slow response and often pages cannot be found and freeze then after refreshing but I am now able to close frozen pages (no more crashing, process in Task Manager normal). The Windows Explorer app message that it cannot read an instruction in memory only occurs when my external browser is connected (2 active monitors) and does not show using my laptop only so that is probably Intel graphics driver related. I did not realize that I was downloading 5 Defender updates yesterday as there is nowhere a notification in Windows, 10 that with a slow (home WIFI, 2G) internet link may have caused some of my problems but Microsoft promised to look into the crashing issues that I reported today and I will post results shortly. I am typing this follow-up with my HP Mini, Windows 10 and IE11......

Update: September 9
I found three issues that I fixed and most of the problems are gone now, Windows internet response is still sluggish when compared to VistaSP2 and IE9 but that may get better with W10 updates.
Fix1: Loaded the latest Synaptics touchpad driver from the Synaptics support web page and Windows 10 automatically downloaded an update.
Fix 2: Downloaded Intel 3150 8.14.10.2230 (2010) driver from HP support web page and ran Windows 10 compatibility check, saved results to setup.exe and then installed the (older) driver over my newer Intel 3150 (2015) graphics driver that I had downloaded from the Intel support web page but is not compatible with the HP Mini 110 series. This caused the crashes of Edge and IE11 (zooming).
Fix 3: Ran 2 NETSH commands (admin): netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt which improved the response of browsers but after rebooting the procedures need to be repeated, hopefully a future W10 update will address this issue.
I believe my HP Mini is now Windows 10 compatible

till I crashed again and now not so sure anymore. Meanwhile (September 12) I received an accumulated Windows 10 update from Microsoft and the error message when shutting down: "Cannot Find Instruction xxxx in Memory...." seems to have disappeared, web pages still freeze after the 2nd or 3rd page in both Edge and IE11 but does nt cause a hang (Task Manager Process shows normal CPU) and I can shut down after freezing. I have only 1 GB RAM memory on my HP Mini and that may have also something to do with the browser hanging. I will continue checking my drivers for compatibility this time Broadcom (WIFI).
Update Friday September 18th:
No more crashes and that nasty error message when shutting down (Cannot find instruction bla bla bla) is no longer there. Edge still finicky (hangs and loses thread/history) on slow links with high Jitter (>40ms) but IE11 is now stable and is my preferred browser, I reset all advanced Internet settings (to default). Alo use a new MS Wireless MobileMouse 4000 with a Windows 10 mouse driver and the 4th key (Back Page) works better than the left arrow on the screen. The internet hanging no longer causes Windows 10 to crash and I suspect that my Broadcom 4313 WIFI adapter, 5.60.350.23 (or 11) is not fully compatible with Window 10 but I cannot get any help either from BCM, HP or MS on that 4313 driver issue and all BCM drivers published on the web don't work (cannot connect). Bottom line is that my HP Mini 110-3101TU is indeed compatible with Windows 10 but this is not confirmed by Microsoft or HP.
Last update October 4
I managed to buy a larger (2GB) memory (bought 2 SoDIMM mdules just in case) but it was not that easy, HP part suppliers could not help me (Singapore as well as Manila, DDR2 completely phased out) but after several weeks of visiting many shops in Manila (GIlmore+Greenhills) I found 2 new HP replacement parts, 25$ each: Micron MT16HTF25664HY-800E1 (PC2-6400S CL6) and installed one in my HP Mini 110-3101TU without any problems, running on 40% memory maximum now with Windows10 (instead f 80%). No more crashes till todate. HP Manila still c;laims that pre-2013 build laptops cannot be upgraded to Windows10 but I did it on a very slow WIFI (SmartBro prepaid) connection.
