The only recommendation I can offer for those windows update problems is to run this microsoft fix it tool and see if that helps. You want the x86 one (Method 1).

Also read the other suggested methods to fix the issue.

Since you didn't provide the full model number of your notebook, I cannot provide the link to the ethernet driver without either the full model number of the PC, or the hardware ID for the ethernet card.

I would prefer the full model number of the notebook, as there will be only one ethernet driver listed on the driver page.

These codes would not help me. An alphanumeric string like this PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_01\4&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.
