@DP-K
when booting I can just see for a second or two text "error reading serial number" in red text in the top left corner of the screen, then the BIOS comes up with the AMI boot screen etc for a second or two then I get a clear screen with the message "Enter CURRENT password?" in the middle.
You gave me the master password for my serial no but entering it I can't get any further. Is this terminal for my netbook or is there a way to get in? I can buy a new motherboard on ebay, will that work or will I get the same message?
thanks
William

Hi,
for a mini 110 if I unplug the RTC battery and remove the main battery and wait, about how long (hours, days, weeks?) do I have to wait before the CMOS forgets the setup and especially any passwords?
thanks
William

Welcome Bean.
The code you were given is correct.
Are you using a "QWERTY" keyboard???
Have you checked all the keys on your keyboard to make sure they are working???
Removing the CMOS battery will not work.
Let us know what you find.
