Hello all! I just got a used HP mini 210 and like it allot! but not as much as i like a computer with speed. So i have plans to install a SSD hard drive from intel in it.

I want to know if it's possable to install a new hard drive put the windows starter OS on it and install HP QuickWeb. As i really like that start up system.

Thank you!

Best regards~Zachary.

Hi,

The following article shows you step-by-step how to upgrade a HDD for a Mini 210. This should be the same for SSD. All 6 my laptops at home now use SSD's from 120Gb to 480Gb. I have not measured the "speed" but my wife's Seashell does not show any improvement except boot time and shutdown time. Here is the link:

Hi,

Depending on what are you trying to do, SSD may only give you beter boot up time and shutdown time.

Regards.

Think of it as upgrading the disk drive! from like a 100GB to a 1TB you need new OS and HP tool's. I'm a computer engineer! So by no means am i shy to get to work. also i know what I'm talking about.

My question was about the HP quick web program and setting it up to a new hard drive. As i know HP uses a ghost for the drives...

Ps. I've already done this with toshiba and acer both and my computer's run wonderfuly! and i want to run SSD's in laptops as they bounce around get nocked around heat up etc etc and an SSD drive will take to all of that and more with no problem.

Last thing i want to do is be out some place with my HP mini and not be able to use it as the drive got to big of a shock and I'm without a computer!

So in my logic a SSD is only reasonable for my laptop computer's!

Yeah that's what i wanted. I hate waiting for windows to wake up or shut down.

I just want to use the computer not wait for it. Also from a cold start when the computer has no app's in it's ram bank's i find that like chrome or even just paint or windows photo viwer they start allot faster then the first time start on a disk drive.

Thank you very much for your step by step. This is a big help.

Also out of the 197 computer's I've built for work all using SSD's, Every SSD drive was just as good as the last. And never heard of one computer having a problem with the hard drive. VS our older computer's that always got kicked back for disk drive fail!
