Here is the Service Manual:
Supported batteries:
Battery: 8-cell, 73-Wh, Li-ion battery 493976-001
8-cell, 68-Wh, Li-ion battery 592078-001
The first one is 14.8 volts 5200 mah
Supported adapters:
AC Adapter 230-W RC/V AC Smart Adapter 613159-001
200-W RC/V AC Smart Adapter 613158-001
19.5 volt and with a 5mm center pin connector.
The adapter you ask about has the correct volts/watts/amps but a different connector

Thanks for the reply; really appreciate.
Thanks for the battery information; appreciate it.
As far as charger is concerned, the adapter that I mentioned is already in use with the Notebook. I wanted to verify if it is okay to continue with it or not. The back panel of the Notebook suggests a 19.5 Volts and 10.3 Amperes Charger, but the one I am using is 19.5 Volts and 11.8 Amperes (Separate Purchase). The Product Specification document does suggest supporting 19.5V/11.8A as you also point out plus keeping the +/-1 rule in mind, but since Notebook specifically mentions 19.5V/10.3A, so i am worried if it might cause damage to the battery/board due to power surge. I recently faced a battery problem where a new battery stopped charging all of a sudden and failed to provide any backup. So, immediately I thought of this disparity between 11.8A provided by Charger and 10.3A required by Notebook.
So, would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I was going to point out that there was an adapter to make the older adapters with the smaller AC jack work on the ones using the 5mm center pin connector. On laptop AC adapters the key thing is the voltage. Low or high voltage in relation to specs will damage components. You also have to consider the amps. The laptop must have the minimum amps specified. And watts is just volts times amps. You cannot harm a laptop with an adapter with higher amps/wattage, but correct voltage. The laptop will only draw what it needs. A higher amp adapter with the right voltage will just charge the battery faster but the laptop will operate the same.

Thanks for the reply; appreciate it.
I will rephrase, just to clarify my understanding.
So, you are basically saying that:
1. Volts should always match (No More/No Less or else components are in danger)
2. Amperes should at least meet the minimum requirement (More amperes would not cause any issues)
Thanks for sharing the Maintenance Guide. You also shared the Part Numbers of Adapters that are supported. I did a little search and found following against each Part Number:
613158-001
613159-001
Although, I could not find anything with respect to above Part Numbers on HP Site which would have made it very easy to match the Volts and Amperes of the Adapter that I have, but above were shown as results of respective Part Numbers in ebay. My Adapter matches perfectly with the second Part Number (19.5 Volts/11.8 Amperes), so would it be safe to conclude that my Adapter is supported by the Notebook.
With respect to Battery, 14.8 V/5200 mAH and 14.8V/4800 mAH are supported for this Notebook. Would a 14.4V/4400 mAH be supported or workable on this Notebook? (Please note the difference of 0.4 V)
Thanks in advance.
