Hey guys!
I own an HP Omen laptop model: 15-ce089no 15,6
I wonder if it is possible to upgrade from i5-7300HQ processor to i7-7700k or just the normal i7-7700 or any i7 processors.
Also what depends on it? Processor sockets? This feels like a rocket science to me.
Thanks.

That is correct.
Replacing the motherboard would cost as much or more as buying a new notebook with better hardware.
The only upgrades you can perform would be to increase the memory or install a solid state drive if your notebook doesn't have one.
Processors and graphics require a motherboard replacement.
If you don't like what you have now, I suggest you sell or trade it in for better performing model.

Hi:
We haven't been able to replace processors in Intel notebooks for 4 or more years now.
The processors are an integral part of the motherboard.
In order to upgrade the processor, the motherboard would have to be replaced with one listed in the service manual that may come with a better processor.

So what i've understood is that it is nearly impossible to upgrade it unless u want to replace ur whole motherboard?
So should i upgrade ram from 8 to 16gb or gpu in order to speed up or upgrade this laptop for gaming?
