I recently purchased an HP Omni 10, product no F4W57EA#ABU, tablet with Windows 8.132bit. Since yesterday there has been no sound through either the speaker or headphones. I have checked the Device Manager and I have Intel SST audio Device (WDM) and Realtek 12S Audio Codec installed. Device Manager reports that they are both working ok.

I checked the volume and it is on max.  Does something need reinstalling or is it a hardware problem?

Hello Ewart1,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand the sound is no longer working on your Omni tablet. I will do my best to assist you. First, you may want to try a System Restore. You can return the computer to a date before the issue appeared, and it may return the sound. For more information on how to do this, please reference this website: System Restore

If that doesn't help, then the suggestions in this document should: No Sound from Speakers (Windows 😎

Next, I would like you to reinstall the operating system. It will clear up any software conflicts and allow you to start fresh. If the issue is related to software, it will be resolved.

First, please ensure you backup your files. Here is information on how to do this: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 😎

Once this is done, it is safe to reinstall the operating system. Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 😎

If the sound does not return after all of this troubleshooting, the computer likely has faulty hardware. At that point, please contact HP phone support. You can utilize this website to learn how to contact HP appropriately, based on your region: Contact HP Worldwide

Have a wonderful day! :smileyhappy:
