HP Pavilion 15-P001TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm using HP Pavilion 15-P001TX notebook (silver color).

Recently, my keyboard has started malfunctioning. Whenever I press N, B, PRT SC key it takes the input as delete key and that delete continues until I press any other key. Rest of the keyboard is working completely fine.

So, I'm thinking to replace this keyboard and get a new one. How much would it cost to get the keyboard replaced at HP service cnetre without warranty.

Any alternative solution will be highly appreciated.

Here's the issue. The keyboard can only be sourced through HP as part of the entire top cover. See page 22 of the Service Manual here. So if you take it to an HP Service Center all they are able to do is order and replace the entire top cover and it is going to be very expensive.

Service Manual

Pages 86 and 87 show pictures of how to remove the top cover.

Assuming you are in the US this is the HP Part number:

With full size textured island-style Keyboard. Touchpad and numeric keypad black for use in the United States 762529-001

The whole top cover is $145 on amazon.com which is likely to be about what HP would charge just for the part, while the keyboard alone can be purchased for $30 and even that price can probably be beaten with a little research:

You would have to remove the keyboard from the top cover, which the manual does not show but an experienced laptop tech would have no trouble doing. I recommend buying the keyboard and taking the laptop and the keyboard to a local shop. They might charge $60 or so in labor but you are still going to come out ahead. The HP Service Center would not install a part you purchased anywhere except from HP. In fact, they would have to order the part and, as I said, all they can order is the entire top cover. Post back with any more questions.
