Hello,

yesterday when i turned on my notebook, 2 horizontal lines across the display appeared. Looks like it's maybe some hardware problem, but I still hope that it could be solved without sending my notebook for HP service. Maybe it's just bad contact on the monitor cable and uplugging/plugging in it once can solve it? Can you please help me with this problem? Here is a photo of my issue.undefined

Hi CJMikey,

I would like to welcome you to the HP Support Forums! Smiley Happy

I see from your picture that you do have horizontal lines going across the screen. I will try my best to help you with this problem.  To assist you better, could you please tell me the model or product number of your computer and the operating system that is currently running on it.  Here are some guides for How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? and Which Windows operating system am I running?.

In the meantime, here is a document for Resolving Problems with Notebook Displays (Windows 7) that has some steps that may help with this problem. I will also get you to try Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista) to see if there are any damaged or corrupted components that may be causing this issue.

I hope this helps, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and have a great day!

I worked on behalf of HP.

Hello,

thanks for your reply. Here is my system information :

I'm running WIN8, build 9200. I also checked my laptop with hardware failure test utility you recommended me, but every hardware component passed the test, so now I really don't know what to do 🙂

Hi CJMikey,

Thank you for the information. I would like to know if this happens when you open in safe mode. Here is a document for how to open in Windows 8 Safe Mode. If there is no line when you open in safe mode, then I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the Graphics drivers.

If this does not resolve your issue, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link to get the support number for your region. Contact HP Worldwide

I hope this helps, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and good luck!
