The wifi button toggles from disabled to off.  How do I turn on the wifi?

I understand that you are unable to enable the wireless.  Here is a link to Troubleshooting Your Wireless Network and Internet Connection (Windows 7). Please note step 2 under "cannot connect to the wireless network or Internet"

 

Have you tried to enable it in Device Manager?

Have you run the The HP Support Assistant to aid with finding updates and resolving issues.

Have you tried running MS Fix It  to help resolve issues?

 

There are 2 bios updates for your system, have you done those? Here is a link to HP Pavilion g6-1b79dx Notebook PC Drivers to get the bios updates.

 

Please let me know if this has helped.

I've experienced same with HP Chromebook. Since I am not connected to Internet
, can't download or update anything. Any help?
