Hi there,

I've just reinstalled windows 7 on my HP laptop and need to install drivers. I'm trying to get the network going first so I can use the HP driver navigator to do the rest automatically. BUT ... from the HP driver downloads section all attempts to download drivers redirect me to downloading the driver navigator which I obviously can't use because I have no network adapter driver!

For example,

http://www.hp-drivers-download.com/download/hp/sp53753.exe.html

No matter on which link it just downloads the driver navigator.

Help?

NGardener,

I hope the other drivers worked for you.

Have you updated the bios to version  VersionF.37, 6.98M ?

To get the HDMi back I would try updating the Chipset driver, the audio driver and the graphic cards drivers.

Please do the updates in this order if they have not been done already

1. Bios

2. Chipset then restart the computer

3. Audio

4. Graphics.

Once you have done all the updates, if the issue persists you can try running  MS Fix I,t to help resolve issues.

Please let me know the results.

Hi NGardner1515,

Thank you for your query, I am happy to aid you in this endeavor!

I see you have reinstalled Windows 7 and are now looking for drivers. The page you linked me to is not an HP page, but a driver download's page. Here is the link to the HP Drivers & Downloads page. Please input your exact model and follow the prompts to display a list of drivers and downloads.  From here you should be able to download the network driver, to  install  on this notebook.

If you would like additional help. please provide the exact model of HP Pavilion you have. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Thanks, hi, my model number is g6 1c39ca, product number A3J85UA#ABC.

I have fixed my network adapter problem by downloading the correct driver and have downloaded several of the drivers from the HP site for my model number.

I am not able to get my HDMI port working.  Prior to reinstalling a newer version of windows, it worked fine just by connecting the cable to my TV.  Both devices detected each other automatically.  Not anymore.  Trying to follow the directions offered from HP, I need to select the 'AMD HDMI Output' option when going to Control Panel >Sound > Playback.  But that option is not there.  I've downloaded at least 2 of the graphics drivers from the HP site:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5173...

but nothing has worked yet.

Also, I still have 2 yellow exclamation points beside items in my device manager.  They are:

"Ethernet Controller"

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_1695103C&REV_05

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_1695103C

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&_020000

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_0200

"PCI Device"

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_1695103C&REV_01

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_1695103C

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF0000

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00

I have had some trouble finding the correct drivers to download to fix this.  Are they available from the HP site or elsewhere?

Thank you!

Hi NGardener1515,

I hope you had a good weekend!

I understand that your have an issue with the HDMI and are missing two drivers.

The first driver is for the Ethernet WAN Realtek RTL8188CE sp53753.exe.

The second is for the card reader  Realtek Card Reader Driver sp55038.exe. Please try these drivers.

You also stated you had an issue with the HDMI, here is a link to assist you with that.  Resolving HDMI Display and Sound Issues (Windows 7 and Vista). There are more links on the bottom of the page for further troubleshooting steps if neccesary.  You can also run the The HP Support Assistant, to help with updating drivers and resolving issues.

Please let me know the results.

Thank you,

I have seen that HP site for resolving HDMI issues.  That particular site does not help me because when I go to sound > playback, I have no HDMI choice visible.

Also, prior to reinstalling windows, my HDMI port worked as a plug n play.  Whenever (including the 1st time) I plugged in an HDMI cable to my TV and computer, they recognized each other automatically.

Do you have any other ideas? Is there a driver I need or some other trouble shooter I can use?

Thanks.

Thank you!

I updated bios and reinstalled in the order you suggested and now the HDMI port is working.  I still do not have the AMD HD icon as shown on the HP help page but I guess that doesn't matter!

Thanks!

Hi there,

It turns out the HDMI port is working for video, but not audio.  I guess it does matter that I don't have the HDMI choice listed in my sound options.  Any ideas as to how to get it working based on what I've done so far?

Thanks!

Hi NGardner1515,

Thank you for your response.

I see that the HDMI port is working but you are not getting any audio.

When you checked sound for an HDMI option, was the HDMI cable connected, if not the option will not show. The HDMI cable must be connected for the option to appear.

Here are some documents I hope will help.
