For an HP Pavilion zv6000 Notebook with WIndows XP, would an
HGST Travelstar 2.5-Inch 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache Internal Hard Drive
be a suitable replacement?

No I do not think laptop IDE drives were made in sizes larger than 500 gb. And the biggest I see out there in any quantity is a 160 gig. This 320 gig was the biggest I could find on eBay right now:

No that is a SATA hard drive and the zv6000 is a PATA/IDE drive.
It is a completely different interface. They do make 7200 rpm PATA drives but getting very hard to find.
Post back if you need more help. If I knew where you lived I would be able to see if I can find the right drive close to you.
