Probook 6460b
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi all,

Need to connect devices via Bluetooth but but somehow "Bluetooth" is no activated in my notebook.

If I go and check from "device manager", bluetooth is not visible.

If i check "services", I can see Bluetooth support service  and Bluetooth handfree - running.

I have also checked some tube videos where Bluetooth driver is installed in "device manager" to "other Devices/unknown device". But still following that, still no Bluetooth visible in Device Manager.

So my humble request is to have instruction how to get right driver, install it and make Bluetooth connection available.

Cheers, Jan

Hi, Jan:

Here is what the most likely cause of the problem is...

When you upgraded from W7 to W10, the Bluetooth radio was turned off in the HP Connection Manager software.

After upgrading to W10, the connection manager software doesn't work to allow you to turn on the Bluetooth radio again.

The only way I know of to fix the problem would be to go back toW7, turn the bluetooth device on using the connection manager, uninstall the connection manager software, restart the PC, and verify that both the wireless and bluetooth is turned on and present.

Then upgrade back to W10.

You're very welcome.

That was the only way I could get the bluetooth to come back when I upgraded my HP 6930p to W10.

Once I did that, the BT showed up and worked just fine.

I updated to Windows 10 on my Probook 6460b and was facing this issue.

The easiest way to get Bluetooth working on Win10 is to download iso and make a installer USB for Ubuntu, a variant of Linux operating system (via unetbootin if there is no access to computer running linux). Boot via this live USB (selecting the option of 'Try Ubuntu without installing' and turn Bluetooth on in Ubuntu settings. Reboot to Windows 10 and the bluetooth will be operational.
