Hi everyone, first I'd like to say that I find the operating system list for the least "interesting".

Now, I bought a G2 to replace my 4441S.

The issue is that the momory I had gave me a message like "memory not supported ",

fine I bought new memory, same problem with 2 brands, then I though maybe it's because I bought "normal" memory and not DDR3l?

The thing is that i need this memory quickly and I can't find DDR3L, now i'm using corsair Vengeance and I need the wake on lan function but that message which let me use the computer if I press enter, doesn't have any countdown with default option and no BIOS settings so I want to modify that and either add a timeout that would boot the laptop or simply disable that message because it's working, i'm using it now.

I need that until I can find DDR3L.

Thanks.

You don't seem to understand how it works with memory  primary and secondary memory timing and bus voltage  settings. the notebook BIOS ROM file has settings in its coding for memory modules that meet the compatibility requirements. If you install memory that has not been tested for compatibility, then it just won't work or even it seems to work, it will be unstable.

A notebook BIOS is absolutely unlike a BIOS that is present in  an enthusiast level gaming motherboard. There are no adjustable timings and voltages for the memory timings or bus voltages in the BIOS of a standard notebook's BIOS. It is actually protecting the owners from themselves.  You are not "doing 1.5 to 1.35". You can't change the bus voltage setting to anything other that what is set in the BIOS. If the memory  module you install does not accept the voltage set by the BIOS coding then you are simply out of luck.

Check out the BIOS Modding forums if you want to see which options can be made available.

You can't bypass the message. If the BIOS tells you that the memory is not supported then that is the way it is. It also means that you risk losing data on your notebook.

You will have to search online and find guaranteed compatible memory.

The following memory modules manufactured by Crucial are guaranteed compatible. Another brand to try would be Kingstonm memory. Any non guaranteed compatible memory module you install will ba a waste of your time and risk of your data.

Thanks for the reply,

I can't find DDR3L here, I live in China and today i found a DDR3L from lenovo, this one should work but no idea when I can get it.

And i'm not going to loose anything, the memory can adapt, it's not like if i was overvolting the momory, 1.35 to 1.5, I'm now doing 1.5 to 1.35.

There should be an option for that...

which software could I use to modify the BIOS? I can add the option myself if necessary.

And i'm using 16G not 8, 8 isn't enough for me anymore.

Edit 2: and another reason why I want to bypass is because it actually works perfectly well, all memory test pass without any issues (except that it's not running full speed...)

You're totally right man, I noticed that there was absolutly no settings for the memory, I gave up,

I asked my assistant to find me some memory, she'll go get it by herself, i'll pay extra but at least i'll have the correct memory.

BTW I had another laptop running with 1.5 instead of 1.35 for a year, no issues whatsoever.

Anyway, thanks for your reply !
