The title sums it up. Recently my probook 4440s lost power (i belive) while I was using it, even though it was plugged in. The LED light near the symbol of a plug was blinking blue, and the computor will not turn on. Ive had this problem before, but usually taking out the battery and letting it rest for a few seconds does the trick. Not this time. Its been off for about 24 hourse now. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Hello chren,

When a unit loses power all of a sudden while in use, some bad things can happen.

If you, when you now turn on your unit, you have the blinking LED it can, if it blinks like in a sequesnce, mean that there is something wrong with your unit.

I have pasted a link below that explains in more detail about what theese LED blinking error codes mean.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443366

You CAN try a power cycle reset if the led isn't blinking in secuence but more like a flashlight on a car, just continously.

A hard reset is performed in the following war:

1: Disconnect everything, also the power plug and take out the battery

2: Hold down the power button on the unit for app 40 seconds

3: Reconnect ONLY the power plug and start the computer with the power button as you would normally

If no hardware is damaged this could solve your issue.

HP Probook 4440s, shut down as normal after use. When went to use next time the laptop would not power on, no lights etc, only light is where the power adapter plugs in. Tried reset, different a/c adaptor, battery, also tried without battery still no joy. even to the extend of removing the battrey out and holding down the power button for 40 secondes but still no joy .

Please any help.
