Good Day All,
Hope you are doing well.
I have a HP Probook 4520s. Previously I was running Windows 7 and have upgraded to Windows 10.
On Windows 7, I did not have any problems with the Bluetooth device, but with the upgrade to Windows 10, the bluetooth does not work at all and it does not even pick it up under device manager.
I have even tried to download the drivers and I have set the compatibility mode to Windows 7, but no luck.
Does this mean that I need to get another wireless/bluetooth card because it does not look like if it is supported or compatible with Windows 10?
If so, I was looking at the Intel AC-3160, will this one be compatible to my laptop and to Windows 7 or which one can I use?
Thank you and kind regards.

Hi:
See if this works...
You probably have to install this software, reboot, use the software to turn on the bluetooth radio, and then windows should install the HP bluetooth driver for you.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49001-49500/sp49408.exe
Once you have turned on the bluetooth radio by using the above software, uninstall the software because W10 has a built in utility to turn the bluetooth on or off.
As far as wireless cards...you can only install the ones listed in the 4520s service manual and they must have the HP part number on them or they will not work.

You're very welcome.
I thought that worked on W10.
Oh well...
What you are going to have to do is to use the go back to W7 option if you have installed W10 within the last 30 days, install that wireless assistant program, turn on the bluetooth device, uninstall the wireless assistant software, reboot.
Verify the BT is still turned on without the wireless assistant software, and upgrade back to W10.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info, really appreciate.
To go back to to Windows 7 and back to Windows 10 is going to be hectic. I am just so scared that I will loose some information on my laptop.
Well, other option is then also to buy a new card. I am downloading the manual now to see with what I can replace it with.
But now another question will be, how will I know which one will be compatible with Windows 10.
Once again, thank you for your help and advise.

Hi:
It is hard to say what cards will work on W10.
I think you will be throwing good money after bad, and I would bet that any of the cards listed in the service manual that may be combination wireless/bluetooth cards...the bluetooth won't work on W10 anyway.
I would back up any files I didn't want to lose, and use the go back to W7 option.
I had to do it once and it took only 15 minutes or so, and I didn't lose anything at all.
I'm assuming your notebook has the standalone HP bluetooth module and that does work on W10 because I have an elitebook 6930p with the same module and I tested out file transfers from my cell phone to my PC.
I was very surprised it worked.
