Hi to every one...
I have a display problem with my Probook 4520s. The display is not showing anything, not bios startup, not windows.
It actually starts normally with no other problems at all. I have connected other monitor with external VGA and working fine. But the Display(LCD) is completely off not showing anything. I normally handle my laptop with great care.
I have chat with the HP support team, they suggested me to
Please perform a dry boot on the notebook by following the below steps:
1. Disconnect the unit from the AC adapter and all external devices
2. Remove the battery and hold the power button for 45 seconds. This is to discharge any residual charge present in the unit completely
3. Restart the computer using only the AC adapter.
But no luck.
Please provide some suggestion/solution.
Thanks.

In a darkened room start up your notebook and shine a flashlight on the LCD display.
If you see a very dim Windows desktop then you are in luck.
@the backlight inverter has failed and needs replacement. If you are a DIY kind of user then this is a cheap repair. If not, having it done at a shop might cost @ $75.00.
If you still see nothing then the LCD display has failed. That is a more expensive repair.
If your notebook is still in its warranty period it is time to contact HP for warranty repair service.
Best regards,
erico
