Hi all,

I noticed another thread on this topic, but there was no solution to the problem. I did all that was suggested, except to flash the BIOS to the latest version, I need to access the BIOS itself, and I can't do that at all. Is there a way to do this?.

Oh, and I noticed that the light blinks 5 times, which I found out means hardware failure, has anyone else had this problem?.

Thanks Derek, I'll take a look at that and try the troubleshooting steps and see if anything works in the next few days, and will come back to provide everyone with the results.

So I think I have discovered that the system board has failed. Boards on eBay go for $80-$100, so I think I will go that route. Will update you guys when something awesome or **bleep**ty happens. I have replaced a logic board before, in an Apple. After taking this one apart, it wasn't too bad at all. Thanks for the tips and the links!.

Motherboards are one of the expensive parts of the computer, wouldn't it be better to consider a new laptop (just saying please do not yell at me)

I am going to look at the process of what it takes to replace the logic board. And, im going to think about it for awhile. You are right, it's just better to get a new laptop sometimes but, sometimes you can get away with a simple logic board replacement, and my dad has done it numerous times. I will let you guys know what I do, and will take your suggestion into consideration if I decide to go that route. Thank you.
