So there is some speculation as to whether or not the HP ProBook 4540s can handle 16gb of ram.
I recently purchased this laptop from tigerdirect.com
-Windows 7 Pro64 bit
-Core i5 2.6ghz
-Came with 8gb (2x4GB Kingston)
-Claims support on website for 16GB (2x8gb
-AMD Radeon 7650M
Is it possible to upgrade this particular model E3V00UT with 16GB of RAM with no performance degradation?

Please and thank you for responding and viewing.
Best,
-Robert

Hi
I have hp probook 4540s
And successfully installed 16g of ram with this trick
Before installing the two ram modules
Start Run msconfig
Boot tab
Advanced Options button
Then Maximum Memory
choose 8192
turn off
Install your two 8gb modules
Then turn on
back to msconfig
same options as above
choose 16384 for maximum memory
