Hi:

I have Compaq B1255 TU Laptop. I also have the HP recovery media (2 disks) which came along with this laptop. The laptop was originally loaded with Windows Vista Home premium 32 bit.

Recently the original harddisk of this laptop was crashed. So I had got it replaced with new harddisk and I  was hoping that I would reinstall the software on it using the HP receovery disks with me. However after the refitting of the new harddisk, this laptop does not recognize these HP Media disks. It does not boot from them. I could "read" these HP Media disks on another laptop and then made an ISO file of the containts of these disks and try to install the OS using these images of the disks from USB drive. However the laptop does not recorgnize the containts of these Media Disks.

For timebeing I have installed Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit on this laptop from the Microsoft Vol Lic. Media we have. However I could install all the original drivers on this laptop and also could not install the HP Recovery manager on it.

Could you please let me know from where I can download the HP Recovery Manager software for Windows Vista 32 bit system and try to install all the software from these recovery media and reset it to the factory condition?

Thanking you in advance.

Use the button at top of this page titled "Support", then click "Download drivers" from the menu. Enter your Model Number. After entering click 'Go". On the next page use the dropdown menu to select your Operating System, click Next. A list will populate with drivers/software.

Hello  CherylG:

Thanks a lot for your reply and and guidance.

When I download the drivers, not all of them are available there, e. g. the original laptop came with quickplay software (for viewing the videos) and it is  not available there. There are drivers only for quickplay buttons. Also based on these drivers we cannot create a recovery partition in the system and use it to refresh the system (instead of using the disks everytime). Also the HP Recovery software is not there in the download drivers page and I think the Original HP media I have cannot be used without it.
