My sister recently got the HP Stream 11 which is running on windows 8. For some reason it won't connect to the wifi. When you click over to where the wifi symbol should be, it says "no connection- no connections are avaliable" which is weird because the internet is working for all the other devices we have in our house and we even turned off the router and turned it back on to see if that was the issue but that didn't work. We also rebooted the laptop but it still doesn't show any connections and it doesn't show a list of wifi connections from neighbours, it just says "no connections are avaliable". Then we called the internet company we have to see if they can help and the representative guided us through a bunch of solutions but nothing worked. The representive told us that the laptop must of turned off the wifi and to click the wifi button (f12) on the keyboard to turn it back on but the computer doesn't have that button instead the f12 button has an airplane over it. The representive also told us to check "device manager" and click over "network adapters" and it should show something about wifi but instead it showed us the options about bluetooth and nothing about wifi. So, I have no idea what could be wrong with this laptop nor how to turn the wifi back on but can someone please help.

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about WiFi not working on your laptop and wanted to help.
That button with the airplane symbol on it IS the WiFi button.
MS changed their information such that now, when you disable the WiFi, it shows an airplane symbol because that is known as "Airplane Mode".
If you press that button, it should enable WiFi again.
If that doesn't fix it, then please follow the troubleshooting steps in this thread: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet
Good Luck
