I was wondering if i could upgrade the AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 245e Processor to an AMD AMD A10-5800K APU 3.8Ghz Processor? Since i do alot of gaming and with the new gaming titles coming out i need a  better proccesor to do the job.

Here are the specs for your HP TouchSmart 310-1125y Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model supports the following CPU;

TDP: 45W
Only Socket AM3 processors
AMD Athlon X4 6xx/6xxe (Propus)
AMD Athlon X3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)
AMD Athlon X2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)

Your system uses the AMD AM3 socket while the AMD A10-5800K requires the AMD FM2 socket, therefore the AMD A10-5800K is incompatible.

Please send KUDOs

Hi,

This may sum all:

"AM3 CPUs compatible with AM3+ motherboards, but not AM3+ processors compatible with AM3 mobos"
