Today, on my HP Pavillion 15-n278sa Notebook, I wanted to take a picture using its internal camera (HP Truevision HD). I went on the Windows 8.1 camera app, and it said "It looks like something is wrong with your camera. Visit the manufacturer's website for troubleshooting info." I also tried the Cyberlink Youcam app but no different.
I have searched the web and tried everything. I've tried updating the driver, installing a generic driver, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver - but no luck. I followed these instructions as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Harry

Hello JamaicanBacon,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the webcam on your notebook is not working. I'll do my best to help! To start, please try all of the suggestions in this document: Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 😎
If that doesn't help, then here is something else you can try, and it should resolve the issue:
1. Go into Device Manager, then Imaging Devices.
2. Right-click on the webcam, and select "uninstall".
3. Restart the computer. This will force the webcam driver to be reinstalled.
Please try all these steps and let me know what happens. Thanks and have a great day!
