Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I read your post and understand that you would like to know if Windows hello will work on the Envy Laptop - 17t (Product# Y7C72AV_1) I'd like to help you with this case.

The HP Truevision HP IR Camera is indeed an infrared camera. On products equipped with a fingerprint reader or an infrared camera, you can use Windows Hello to sign in by swiping your finger or looking at the camera.

To set up Windows Hello, follow these steps:

1. Select the Start button, select Settings, select Accounts, and then select Sign-in options.

2. Under Windows Hello, follow the on-screen instructions to add both a password and a 4-digit PIN, and then enroll your fingerprint or facial ID.

Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers! 🙂

Thank you for the response. It would be nice if the feature descriptions would make more mention of what each feature can or cannot do, maybe have a link for each feature so that when you click it a pop-up or new page openso giving a detailed description of that feature, I searched the HP website and did a Google search and I could not find any info on the HP TrueVision IR camera.

Thank you agian
