I had the same problem and sent my dv6 infor repair. They re=installed the HP Wireless Assistant, and the wireless connection now works OK. But when I click on the HP Wireless Assistant icon anywhere, all I get is a blank white screen with a message that script has quit working on this page. What should I be seeing? Is this normal?

First I'm no expert on this ... just trial and error. One would think that taking the battery out - after letting it cool down etc. and restarting without a batter (plugged in of course) would help diagnose this. Maybe not.
For the nubie here ... my dv9817 is out of warranty - No Wireless blue Light - Tired all of the above.
Can I still get a battery even though it is out of warranty? If so is there a link?
I put in my S/N and P/N - says i'm not qualified. Hummmm pondering
