HP Active Stylus
Windows 8.1

I have an HP Envy x360 touch laptop and I bought a HP Active Stylus from HP.com. The pen worked in the screen to draw but the pressure sensitivity has not worked. I have tried changing all the settings in Windows and looked for updated drivers, but nothing changes the pressure sensitivity. Has anyone used the Active Stylus and gotten it to work on an HP Envy x360?

Hi Brian,

HP Envy x360 Touchscreen Notebook has Capacitive screen, that means it responds to electro discharge when we touch the screen bare handed. So the Notebook screen will not repond/bare minimum respond to Pressure Sensitive HP Active Stylus as it works on the principle of Resistive where you have to apply little pressure.

So You can check with a Capacitive Stylus as most of the Smart Phones has*.

So which HP laptop would you recommend for pen pressure drawing applications?

spectre x360 with dell  750-AAGN  active stylus. works great

if your using the same active stylus that works with the spectre, then you should get the  750-AAGN dell active stylus, it doesnt require nearly as much pressure, and has been herolded as the best pen for hp active screens. the screen is not resistive at all! the pen has a resistive tip that is meant to limit accidental imput but it is too "stiff" so people get the dell pen and if you watch lisa at mobile tech review on the spectre x360 review on youtube she will show you the comparison.

spoiler: its almost night and day. get the dell pen "A03" means its the newest version i think you can find it cheap on amazon ebay or newegg.

I'm sorry but that sounds incorrect, the x360 uses an active digitizer based pen, not resistive. a pen from a phone, although also an active digizer(if your looking at samsung) is from wacom. the screen in the x360 is a synaptics technology so a synaptics pen like the dell  750-AAGN will work best. my samsung note edge's "wacom" pen will not work, neither will an  "N-trig" pen.

I just received the 750-AAGN new from amazon. It didn't work on my HP Envy x360 15"...

I have a capacitive stylus with the rubber end on it but i'm not impressed. Its quite annoying to draw with.

Has anyone else had success with this model on an HP ENVY x360 15-inch convertible laptop?
