I had to reinstall the operating system from the Recovery Partition on the Hard Drive.  

 

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f11 as soon as you press the power button to see if this will launch Recovery Manager.  If it does, follow the instructions on the link below under the heading 'Restore the PC to its original condition with HP Recovery Manager from within Windows 7' but start at point 3 as you have initiated recovery manager from the f11 option.

I had the same problem that the other person had and I followed all the steps that you were telling them to do. Everything was going fine until I got to the DHCP Client and when I checked the status it said starting and not started. When I click on it and press general it doesn't let me press anything including the start, stop, pause, and resume buttons

I have the same problem but when i do the scan and restart the update reverts and reboots and won't configure updates as well i have everything installed but won't connect to wired or wireless connection dhcp service just keeps saying starting but never starts 1104 mini it won't let me setup a connection of any type either

As in my case, I was having the same problem too.  Finally I had to reinstall the operating system from the Recovery Partition on the Hard Drive.
