I'm asking how to remove the password on the hp startup. I have the password and this is not the BIOS password or the windows password. I want the laptop to bootup without me having to type in the password but I have looked all around and have not found a solution to my problems. Thanks

Hi clumsyman,
Have you tried the following method?
Open a Window on your Desktop and go to this path:
Control Panel > icon view > Power Options > System Settings
First Step:
Click on the "Create or change your user account Password" link
Remove your password, that is make it blank.
Next, to allow you to start working after waking from "sleep" >
come back to System Settings and >>
At "Password protection on wakeup" >
CHECK "Don't require a Password"

Hi,
In order to remove the password for logon, please follow the steps:
Click on Start and then Control Panel.
Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply click on the User Accounts icon and proceed to Step 4.
Click on the User Accounts link.
In the Make changes to your user account area of the User Accounts window, click the Remove your password link.
In the text box on the next screen, enter your current Windows 7 password.
Click the Remove Password button to confirm that you'd like to remove your Windows 7 password.
You can now close the User Accounts window.
Now that your Windows 7 account password has been deleted, you will no longer need to log on when your computer starts.
regards,

Give Kudos to say "thanks" by clicking on the "thumps Up icon" .
Click "Accept as Solution" if it solved your problem, so others can find it.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
