Hello,

I bought my business laptop from my employer. During the boot the company name of my employer is still being displayed on the ' splash screen'  (the screen with the HP logo).

- I already booted to DOS and ran the EREPLOGO.EXE utility to remove the logo (ereplogo.exe /e). The utility said the logo was removed;

- in the BIOS the ' display custom logo' is unchecked so it won't use a picture from the hp tools partition;

However, during the boot the company name is still being displayed on top of the screen... 😞

1) How can I edit this boot text or remove it completely?

2) What can I do to display the hardware specs during boot instead of this ' splash screen' ?

Thanks in advance,

SJW

PS I have the most recent BIOS (F.60 Rev.A, 30 Nov 2015)

Hi,

I managed to change the text line with the BiosConfigUtility64.exe.

With ' BiosConfigUtility64 /getconfig:config.txt'  you can write all the bios values to a text-file and with 'BiosConfigUtility64 /setconfig.config.txt' you can set all the values after modifying the values that you want to change. In my case I had to change the value of 'ownership tag', that's the value that appears in the splash screen during the boot process .

Later on I discovered the 'ownership tag' can also be changed in the Security tab of the normal BIOS setup (F10)...before I knew it is the ownership tag, I didn't associate the text line with security so I didn't find the text field before 🙂

Best regards,

SJW
