Hi, as @The_Fossette is out of the office today, I'm replying to you.
If the noise is too loud then Please check if the laptop is overheating and you might need a cooling pad for it as we cannot increase the fan. Also, if the noise is too loud then I suggest you to contact HP phone support explore the hardware service options for the unit.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

Maybe u already found info about this. I found my solution. Go back to shop, get back money, and forget this series. I bought one. Replaced 3!!! times, all whined. Called our country HP support, they never heard about this issue. (maybe they must say this to everyone) And not the whine the biggest problem.
I had 2 weeks with 3 defferent seral number HP Omen 17-w101nh. One of them simply gone to black screen. After a turn off, it never turned on again. the other 2 "just coil whined" maybe iam RMA-d them before total death. 😛
No bios, no fan, no screen, nothing. Just charging led, and power on led. Some forum posted, i must remove battery, AC power, hold power button for some sec. but the battery unremoveable, withouth loss of warranty. So i installed 3 windows from beginning (i needed enterprise coz of company domain). All other prog, needed for work. that was just 3 day overall. + forum reading about issues. And after the death, i was unable to get back my datas. Thanks god, it dead before real work usage. Coz the hdd/ssd also sealed inside, as the battery. 😛
Whine always appear if no v-sync on. New nvidia game ready drivers global setting is "let application decide "
It must be always on. Coz without this, G-sync wont work. After that u must turn on g-sync. This will limit your frame rate to your monitor refresh rate. (maybe wont work in game menus. Where the framerate skyhigh, so the whine insanely loud here sometimes)
I couldn figured out, it is the fault of vrm of i7 6700HQ, or the nvidia 1070? Both of them have a lot of forum about this whine issue.
And the vsync, gsync solution still not acceptable for me.
Like a BMV or Audi with speed limit at 75Km/h , to avoid vibrations.
Unacceptable.
And everithing sealed inside. If the battery recalled some mounth later, we must change the whole notebook? Unable to safe my data with usb adapter, after a CPU/BIOS death?
I dont know why i gave a chance to HP again. They disappointed me some year before, i thought the made something great now, but... They made an aven higher disappointment. I wont buy HP anymore. Never ever! Dont wanna waste more time on tweaks and workaround coz of basicly faulty cheap coils/conductors, or other poor materials, dont wanna drive to the service/shop always, make phone calls, wait for my notebook. No compromise at this price tag.
