I have a hp pavilion ultrabook 14-b112eo. There are three different bluetooth drivers to choose from, Intel, Atheros and Broadcom. How do I know which manufacturers device is present in my laptop?

Hi:

That is correct.

You install the Qualcomm Atheros BT software and driver for your model.

You do not need to uninstall the generic Microsoft BT adapter before installing the new driver.

Hi:

You install the corresponding bluetooth software and driver for the model wireless card in your notebook.

Go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters section, and there you will find the model of the wireless adapter that is installed in your notebook.

So, for example, if your notebook has a Broadcom wireless card, then install the Broadcom BT software and driver.

Okay, so if I understand you correctly the manufacturer of my bluetooth device should be the same as my wifi?

My wifi is Qualcomm so I downloaded and installed those drivers (Qualcomm Atheros AR9000 Series Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows). Now I should also install the Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0+HS Driver for Microsoft Windows 8?

The strange thing is that Windows automatically installed a Microsoft Generic Bluetooth adapter, but it doens't work. Should I uninstall that first, before installing the Qualcomm drivers?

Thank you!

I will try this!

The generic driver seems to be installed automatically though. I will install the appropiate drivers before connecting to the internet. Maybe then I will avoid the generic ones.
