I need to reformat my 2 HP laptops. I've never done it. I do have the Operating system (Windows XP Pro) CDs and the Application & Driver Recovery DVDs from HP for both laptops. Please help!

Hi,
In this case, boot machine from CD and select fresh installion will be the best option. To be able to boot from CD, you need to change Boot order from BIOS. Please:
- Reboot machine to enter the BIOS by tapping F10 (repeatly few time) during booting process (before Windows logo turns up).
- Once you're there, select the Advanced tab.
- Then select CD/DVD
- Press F10 again to save and get out.
After that, put the XP installtion CD to machine and Reboot.
Regards.

Thank you very much for the information.
I've received a warning that there is another operating system on the C drive already so it might cause probelms if I install another fresh copy. Should I chooce to install a fresh Windows or repair the previous Windows?

Hi,
It's up to you. If you wish a fresh install, this will reformat the hard disk and install fresh Windows for you. If you wish to repair it can try its best to repair Windows for you. Repair will save your time to reinstall drivers and software.
Regards.
