Hi, i found this thread when trying to solve my problem... i want to turn on/off the touch pad permanently until i activate it again, not turning on/off for 1 session.

However it seems Alps hardware does not support this feature as Synaptics does... any chance i can have this feature?

Thanks,

Billy,

The driver offered in the Post from Axshun_Jaxsun provides a recent version of the driver for the Revolve 810.

Which driver you can use, and it must be an ALPS driver, depends on your TouchPad hardware, your computer model, and the version of Windows you are running (assuming Windows of some flavor).

You did not provide your Operating System or your Product Number .

I can offer the following:

Windows 8 ALPS TouchPad Driver

The more recent versions of the driver appear to offer more features than were previously available.

==========================================================================================

For example, the following driver is for the Revolve 810 running Windows 7 through Windows 8.1:

Alps GlidePoint Trackpad V8.201.1717.124

Software Description:

This package contains the Alps GlidePoint Trackpad Driver. This driver provides advanced functionality, including support for multi-touch gestures and TouchGuard palm rejection.

Hardware Devices
ACPI\ALP000A="Alps GlidePoint Trackpad"
ACPI\ALP000B="Alps GlidePoint Trackpad"
ACPI\VEN_ALP&DEV_000A="Alps GlidePoint Trackpad"
ACPI\VEN_ALP&DEV_000B="Alps GlidePoint Trackpad"

Hi Dragon-Fur, thanks for your response.

I am using the HP revolve 810, windows 8 with the Alps driver version of 8.201.1717.124 (which is the latest version on HP website).

What i was looking for is this feature: switching the touchpad on/off until i toggle it again, instead of 1 session only. This feature is avaible in Synaptics driver though...

Hi

I seem to have a similar problem

For several months since I've bought this machine, the double-tap turn on/off option worked fine (till today, that is)

Original driver was from Alp

I've replaced it with Synaptics one and managed to permanently turn off the touchpad

But I still want that double-tap in the left upper corner of the touchpad option back, for instances when I forget to take my usb mouse along

Any tips?

(and can it be physical-hardware problem, btw?)
