When trying to resolve a BSOD problem on my new PC*** [near the end of installing Office365], I had to attach this screen print in my thread in the Microsoft Community:
It wasn't connected to my problem but the Moderator commented that
"The crashes in the first snip are related to your track pad. Completely removing then reinstalling that driver should help."
How do I do this please - assuming that you agree, of course.
*** Alyssa in your Live Chat team was brilliant - how do I give feedback?

Download & Save the latest Synaptics driver from your Support page. Next go to Control Panel, Programs & Features and uninstall Synaptics.Restart the laptop and double click on the downloaded file to install it.
**Click Accept as Solution on a Reply that solves your issue**
***Click the "YES" button if you think this response was helpful.***

That was a very simple process - now installed and I'll go away and check the results.
Just three comments:
[1] I didn't change from USA to GB (if there is one) but I presume it wouldn't have mattered
[2] I was surprised that at no stage did it say we are removing the existing drivers, as some companies do.
[3] Going to your link didn't open in a new window so I had to start over again to get back here. I'll put that in the Suggestions forum.
Thanks for your help CherylG - much appreciated.
PS While on that screen I thought I use the "Scan my Product" to check if my drivers etc are up to date. It's just failed, telling me that
"HP encountered an error while trying to scan your product.
Please verify your product is powered on and connected, then try again in a few minutes." Fingers crossed!

A short while after my previous post, this message arrived on screen:
I unstalled the old one - it warned me that my pointer might not work afterwards and told me what to do. I restarted and my pointer was working, thought erractic - cursor was jumping around.
It must have beem at least an hour after that that I received an alert - that I had to install the update. Slow but AOK now!

It's no longer OK.
Typing an email just now, the cursor kept jumping all over the place - two or three lines above e.g.
It's just jumped from here to the line above. The worst example was when I highlighted a word at the end of a line that needed to be changed and as I watched the cursor slowly moved backwards to near the start of the sentence, while continuing to highlight all those characters.
What needs to be done please?

You may actually have a hardware issue. I suggest calling HP Support in your area.

Btw-to have the link open in a seperate window right click it and choose "open in a new tab".

Thanks, CherylG. Their Live Chat and Phone are only open Mon-Friday! In the meantime, whenever I'm typing (is that still the verb?) an email or Word doc, the cursor is still going wherever it wants to and if I don't spot it, I lose what I've typed or I'll have characters in the wrong place.
Worse still, when I see the cursor shooting off to the left, if it goes off screen it brings up other windows.
I'll contact Support on Monday but in the meantime I'm beginning to thing it must be the software - the problem only started after I installed this driver update. We'll see. HAve a great weekend.
